Weather update – icy conditions expected this evening
Following further heavy rain overnight, the weather is now turning colder and it’s likely the water on Wiltshire’s roads will turn icy this afternoon, into this evening and overnight into tomorrow morning.
Our gritting teams are heading out this evening and overnight and we are advising you to take extra care on the roads, to allow extra time for their journeys, not to assume roads have been treated and to watch out for ice, particularly black ice. Anyone heading out on foot or on a bicycle should take extra care and be aware of slips and trips in the icy conditions.
Flood warnings and alerts
There are still some river and groundwater flood warnings in place in Wiltshire, so please keep an eye on the Government’s flood alerts and warnings webpage for the latest. Please sign up for flood warnings and find out what to do when warnings or alerts are in place.
Road closures
Our flooding webpage, with advice and the latest road closures, is as up to date as possible, but please be aware that this is a fast-changing situation. There may be other roads, particularly side roads and smaller roads, that are experiencing flooding in the county.
